This statue is right on the 101( coastal highway). San Elijo Campground and state beach area are right behind it. It goes to show how dominate the surf culture is in California
The view out our tent window. For one night in my life we had ocean front property. Unfortunately the fence was there because of the 30 foot bluff on the other side.

At night we would cook Asparagus, corn on the cob veggie dogs, veggie chick Patty's, and coffee on the campfire. In the morning breakfast burritos and coffee.

When we were surfing these ground squirrels would try to get in our bag so we had to stop bringing food on the beach with us.

I love this road sign, and behind it is the Temple.
This is the walk down to our surf spot. At the point is a spot called swamis. It gets its name from a Temple above the bluff. We do not go all the way to the point it's often to crowded for our liking.
After surfing all day we needed to hang our suits up to dry.
On our first night We stayed at the Del Mar Motel on the beach in Del Mar on the next four evenings we spent camping. Our view from the site we spent the first 3 nights camping.
We finally arrived 19 hours later and immediately set out to do what we came for.
On the way to California We were on Interstate 15 I had to pull over for this.

So I have always been dreaming of getting this overlook pic with surfboards on my car and the Bison herd in the pic. So I am thinking perfect opportunity driving out to California on a surf trip. Perfect. The pic on the Topt is on a snowboarding trip, The pic does not do the overlook justice I'll get a better pic sometime. The pic on the Bottom is my opportunity to get the pic with boards Bison and all, but oops left to early on Saturday to get it.
